This is my first scenario where my Russian troops are equipped with claymores.

How does one deploy them? Do I have to be near them to activate them or it is assumed to be trip-wire activated?

A quick glance through the user's manual can answer most of the straight-forward questions a player might have. I scan through it every so often as a tutorial to refresh my memory of certain rules and such...

Drop the mine on the hex you think the enemy will go through, pull back one hex to cover and wait for the fireworks. You have to be adjacent to the commanded mine for it to work.
