Gentlemen, how does one make smoke with the new patch? Also, I run windows & thr blue windows bar at the buttom of the screen is semi imposed over the CS turn sequence & explanation box. How can I "shrink" the windows bar?
Top left of the window, next to the x, is the minimize/maximize icon. Maximize the game.

For smoke it is like it always was I think, haven't tried yet. click the move button to change it to fire, then click the smoke button?

Boisforas here again, thanks for the tip as it worked. I now have a complete CS screen. I'll try the smoke next time it comes up.
Not sure if that smoke button is working quite right...had some trouble with it already but it could be my own confusion...not sure if others have had an issue shooting smoke...Batman Confused

The smoke/starshell toolbar icons are for unit-by-unit smoke/starshell firing only. You must toggle the appropriate button (else select the appropriate Units menu selection) each time you fire.
The Indirect Fire Dialog is for regular fire only. In that context, using the new toolbar icons for smoke/starshell firing does not apply.

That may not be the optimal or most flexible arrangement, but for now, that's the way it is.
SO does ALT-clicking a hex no longer work?

Alt-clicking when plotting a hex via Artillery Dialog still works, yes. I asked Berto to modify the FAQ explanation.

Ctrl+Alt clicking when firing a smoke capable unit directly still works as well.

The smoke / starshell icons are there to help when firing a selected unit only. While I am used to Ctri+Alt as smoke is used quite often, I never remember how starshells are fired (Ctrl+Shift+Alt wasn't it), so the icons were included there for this reason. For me at least the Starshell icon is a godsend.

Icon Toolbar in general was expanded in order to visualize the available key commands especially to those new to the series, to remind that there is a lot of stuff going on and not just moving+firing with the available APs.

Anyway, the FAQ thread at Matrix forums is available HERE. Smoke / Starshells is discussed there as well. Hope it helps.
Great, thanks Battle Kat! I'm off to read 'em.
