Hello all,

I have noticed that some of the PC & MC titles appear to have received new map graphics. They seem to have a higher resolution, more pleasing textures, and it appears that a 3-D effect has been added so that elevation changes are much more noticeable.

However, no patches have been issued, and the new graphics appear to be available only if you purchase the title through the JT store. Moreover, I can't find anything that mentions the changes, or when/if they plan to be offered as an update.

Anyone have any information on this?

Besides some of the new android apps with the new graphics the only full game that has them is PzB Kursk that was just released friday.

Well, I'm getting more and more complaints about MapMod not being compatible with newly purchased PzC titles from JTS, and judging by the screenshots people have mailed me, these games are definitely being sold with the new graphics.

Thanks for the quick reply Aaron.

I'm not sure that this is the case, though. There are distinct graphical differences in the titles, which are apparent when looking at different screenshots. It may be that these changes were introduced earlier, but it appears that the titles that have been released (or will be released soon) as Android/Ipad apps have received an update to the terrain.

Here's a few links to the JTS website that shows the improved textures and 3D elevations from titles that have app versions:

Here's a title that has not yet been made into an app showing the improved graphics:

Finally, for comparison purposes, observe the differences between the prior images and those that do not appear to have received an update

Now, this wouldn't be the first time that I am completely wrong about something, but there seems to be a significant difference. Also, a friend and I both recently picked up copies of ME '67. I purchased mine from NWS, and he directly from the JT store. From what I understand, his version was labeled as 2.0. I am unable to find any information on this, however.

***Edit*** Jison: do you plan to update Map Mod to incorporate the 3d tiling? IMHO, making elevation changes clearer it would improve the functionality of the maps considerably.
I had heard something about updating past games and yes it looks like someone has updated the ones on JTs website but only for new purchases. So im gonna assume as each title gets its next patch it will come with the updated graphics but maybe David will know some more.

PS. You can always update the files yourself with the new files.

Do you know where I get the new files, and how to update them?
Many Mariuses is right. Somethings afoot.

We want the patch, we want the patch.....................

Jison will have to get busy :-)
I sent an email to CIC, will have to wait for a reply.

From what I was told last month, if a person gets a DD version from either site (HPS/JTS) it will be fully updated with the current patch level. In the event of many of the re-releases being available on the JTS site, they are now version 2.0 - but they are still compatible with the old HPS versions for game play purposes.

As for the reasons behind the different graphics, I do not know. Batman Confused
Hopefully the games will all be updated to the new standard. The maps look great!
