I would recommend finishing off your games, then upgrading.

When you upgrade, do it from a fresh 1.0 install and then install the 2.00 UPDATE.

Alternatively, you could run dual installs, one of 1.04 and one of 2.00.

I have a question. Is this an official patch for the game?

I guess if you want to play PBEM in the future it is since the versions are not compatible and a lot have already updated. Seems to be everyone will have to have this version or not play.

I reinstalled the core game into a separate folder (JTCS 2.0) and applied only the new update. It will take a short time to get used to, but it looks good to me! Like the new sounds too.

To my current opponents and teammates: the old version (JTCS 1.04) is still loaded on my computer to finish out our battles in progress. I'll keep it installed for those that want to play old school.

Hats off to Warhorse (Mike) too-

So, it's back to lock-n-load

Hats off to Death-Dealer who recorded a series of authentic weapon sounds, converted them to OGGs, and having earlier provided his sound mod to community as a separate mod now provided a selected few of them as an important addition to 2.00 soundstage! Salute

Indeed. Incoming! Helmet Smile
Thanks Death-Dealer, the game sounds great now!
Remko van den Berg,

I downloaded over the 1.04 version and also had PBEM games and campaigns on going.
The biggest problem was that they had set "older" "oldest" archive files as default. It messed up, through confusion, one PBEM game and the campaign I was playing for over a year.

Otherwise everything works according to what they sold us. You just need to go in and switch off some of the default stuff.
