I was thinking about that the other day, I remember way back in the early part of 2000 - 2003 at the Blitz there was alot of games being played going head to head with live battles using the icq... does this still work or is there another format in playing this way??? nothing like real time war gaming:>)

Real-time network play is still included in the impending release, but is not at all vetted. We make no guarantees whatsoever that it still works. But, our leaving it in signals that we intend to support (and if necessary debug) this in future.

PBEM and Standard (solo) play will still work fine, of course.
I used it about two years ago. Tried a 2 vs 2 team game that ended up me vs the other 2 when one dropped out. I won Smile and it was fun, but must admit my opponents were annoyed that my turn took so long (they could play their turns concurrently and I obviously couldn't, so I can't blame them). Fun, though. Biggest problem guys might have is with their firewalls, but that can be overcome by opening the proper ports.

I did it a few times years ago before the Matrix version and playing the team at the same time did work. If you can do it now, that would be great because it should be that way and somebody listened and fixed the situation. Even though it was difficult with two trying to play at the same time, it was a lot of fun team or individual.
