Full Version: CMBN/CW is incompatible with MG

Example:

I have CMBN/CW and open a mirror Quick Battle MP game.I will send my opponent of the CMBN/CW and MG has.
At the I can play the next round only on the German side.
If I want to play the British or US troops comes the message:
"The Module Market Garden is required for this Scenario"!
Is this a bug?
Why do I need MG when I want to play only CMBN/CW?
Does anyone have experience with it?
If you are getting that type of message, then it means that the scenario has some units in it from the market garden module. That is why all scenario designers are requested to put CW, MG in the title of the scenario so people know what kind of modules they need to play.
It is not a Scenario. It is a CMBN/CW QB map "Meet Large Village-058".And yet, this message comes.
Have you tried it again?

When exactly you have got the message? At the first setup or after your opponent sent you the turn back?
It will be interesting to see what answers @Toblakai's questions get. The same restrictions apply in that only CMBN/CW units are available for you both to play. It would be very interesting if the CMBN/CW owning player could start a QB and send the turn to the MG owner and then have that second player pick units that were only available in MG. That would trigger an error like this because the first player does not have the models etct for those units. This would be quite tricky for the MG player to pick units.

Interesting.

If this is indeed what is happening then the MG player will be able to reopen the first turn and select different units and send a new 02 turn back. However figuring out what units to avoid and what are valid could be tricky.

I have tried it against 3 opponents.
The message comes when the opponents sends back.
But only on the German side! There are no problems with Allied side.

That means so the new units also in CMBN/CW are integrated by the MG module?
Well, then I'll have to probably buy MG.
So if you take the Allied there are no problems?

Another test would be interesting: You should take the Allied and your opponent should pick some special German units from the module MG (e.g. Flaks). If you like we could make the test because I own MG.

No they are not. When playing PBEM you and your opponent must have the same version of the game (2.12 for example) check. You both must only pick units from the lowest common set. If you have CMBN/CW and they have CMBN/CW/MG then they must be sure to pick only units available in CMBN/CW or you will see that message. If you have CMBN/CW and they have CMBN/MG then you both can only choose units from the base CMBN game.

That would make things OK too.
