After playing some battles with Waterloo, and enjoing it a lot, i buyed another JTS game Leipzig; but i am a little disappointed:
the 3D units are too little to see vs the 3d units in waterloo game.
Is there a way, or a mod to enlarge them?
here is a file to check what i am saying.
The units in Leipzig are the same in the 10 mins scenario or in 15 mins scenario, no difference , they are all the same.
The terrain too is like a little darker, but perhaps i can find a mod for it.
thanks in advance
Antonio
Glad to see that you selected Leipzig as it is a really good title.

One thing that is great about John Tiller games is that if you do not enjoy the stock art, you can mix and match different art files to get things looking the way you like it.

Over at the Blitz we have a big selection of NAP art mods which can be found here:

Just remember to save your original files.

Also, any time a new game update is released, it is always good to re-apply your art mods after installing the new updates.

A really handy mod tool to use for your mods is JSGME.

Good Luck! Smile
Many thanks for the fast reply

already checked all that mods but none modify the 3D unity size....CryCry

really do not know why they changed from the waterloo unity to these ones.
Fear that i have to make it by myself but need to start from the beginning cause i don't know how to do it.

Thanks again
Antonio
Actually folks for years were after us to make the icons more realistic looking and to scale. The supply wagon and artillery always were too large in the hex.

Very sorry that you were not satisfied with your purchase. I do not know of anyone doing a 3D mod to make the icons larger. If we see one we will post a link here for you.

I am very satisfied of the game, the only disappointment is the icons too little; nothing more , i like the game a lot, i buyed it from talonsoft 20 years ago and played a lot and now i am starting to buy all the games again.
This series shine in pbem, and that's what i am doing now.
I'll have to survive with that icons, is a work too hard for me and too much time required to make larger icon.
Thanks
Antonio
p.s. the waterloo icon are superlative Big Grin

We all have different tastes, I thought the new art was excellent.

However if you want to spent a lotta time thro the winter evenings maybe you could retro fit the game art.
I.E. use the art from NRC, Wagram etc and carefully construct a mirror image of the old 3D figures by using the Leipzig 3D figure files as a guide, OR paste the larger figures onto the Leipzig 3D figure file.

Do you know how to make a template ?.

I am starting to learn how to do,( what is the template? if you have more info pls explain me) but the most tedious thing is to identify every figure in the waterlo 3d100-3d50 file and in Leipzig 3d100 -3d50 file, cause i have to change the exact unit.....
to make this i have to read both OOB to know the position of every figures/unit.
Considering that Waterloo have low units than Leipzig i lack figures for many units and have to draw each of them......

I think that i have to survive with the little icons Smile

thanks friends

Hi Antonio, Paint.net which is a free download has a grid maker which can be used to make a template.
You open the file you wish to work on and select grid hexes, square, rectangle etc.
move the vertical and horizontal lines until they divide the file into the required number of equal shaped spaces.
click save and you will have overlaid a template on the file.

Practice is the best way to learn.

Hope this doesn't get me into trouble.
You have your hands full. There are over 300+ 3d images to have to correct including infantry, cavalry, leaders, wagons, etc.

Sorry that we do not supply the original artwork for you otherwise you could just take them and enlarge them. However, they probably would not look right as they were made for a smaller scale.

LOL - and folks were saying that the icons were too big for the hex ... I get a chuckle out of this thread.

perhaps people are right, cause the hex is more visible with the little icons, but i like the large one....will be the age? Big Grin or i need glasses ?Big Grin
Cannot make it, i started to copy the large icons from the waterloo files, but is too much for me; i'll try to do it but i am not sure to end the work.
Antonio

p.s. why do you say that is for a smaller scale? the turn is 15 mins like waterloo and the hex is 100mt the same..... where am i wrong?
