so playing a game with a buddy of mine..we have done several turns...and trying to open his latest turn he sent to me and when I open it to do my turn I keep getting an "Error opening log file: pbemail.yyy" and then clicking on it I get an "Error opening battle file" message.

nothing has changed from last turn to this turn..just wondering why we I am getting that error

Fulda Gap '85 is the game we are running

any help would be appreciated!
Now you are really testing my memory here, i think back in the distant past players used to get this "yyy" error and all i can remember is that there was a fix for the issue but that is where my memory fades away....Wink

I am sure Rich H at HPS/JTS will know how to fix this and maybe even one of the old guys here has a better memory than me?? Smile
In the main game folder scroll down until you see that yyy file. delete it then extract your pbem file into the game folder. It's just one of those odd files that get created to cause you hassle in life.
actually I found the issue was that I wasn't running the game in Admin mode...run it in admin mode and it works just fine....

I was trying to get to sleep last night and remembered that I cant save the game when im not in admin and in my sleep induced haze made the leap from 'cant save unless in admin' to 'cant open save unless in admin'. got up and tried it out and it worked just fine

appreciate the quick response and the assist all!
Glad you got it sorted.......Smile
Glad I'm not the only one who lays in bed thinking about these stupid games!
Of course your not the only one!

The way I have been running my game with my buddy is I get the turn from him usually later in the evening. Watch the movie a time or 2. Go to bed. Let it simmer in my mind over night as I figure things out and then do my turn the next day.
