Full Version: CMFI:GL – Are tanks (or vehicles) more difficult to knock out?

Hi Armchair Generals,

I am near to finish my first CMFI:GL scenario (thanks for that thrilling battle a1steaks!) and have the impression that tanks could take much more penetration hits (2-4) before they will be knocked out. Normally 1-2 hits are enough to knock out a tank. Is this only my sensation or is this a new “feature” of Gustav Line?

Best regards

It's not a new 'feature',i've seen it happening in CMBN,too.
In a CW game,a Panther and a Marder of mine hit an enemy Firefly no less than 6 times. At the end of the game i could see that firefly had a crew member missing and the optics damaged, but other than that it was still battle-ready.
Did you had it only one time? In my battle it happens very often. Maybe it was only random.
It doesn't happen very often, but often enough to be noticeable.
The other thing that happens is your tanks keep firing at the enemy tank even after it is destroyed because they are unsure. I had a Sherman pound a PzIV 6 times before I was told it was KO'ed. It was at a crazy short range and I thought it was a bug. Turns out the PzIV was KO'ed on the second shot but the Sherman crew did not know (no burning) so they kept firing. This happened in dense woods with smoke around so it actually made sense.
Maybe your tank crew needed to abreact after a hard day of work Helmet Wink

Was the tank really destroyed or only abandoned before your tanks gave the enemy tank the "deadly 6-pack"?

Another question: Is it realistic that the game always shows the kind of hit (the red and white text after a hit)?
