Does anybody make serious use of 3D Extreme Zoom-Out mode?
I am referring to the graphics mode that results when you hit the '3' key.
(Yes, yes, we are aware that many players -- myself included -- would like to see a new, larger, zoomed-in 2D mode. The question here concerns the tiny, extreme zoomed-out 3D mode only.)
Would it anger anybody if we drop the game's 3D Extreme Zoom-Out mode?
Looking maybe to lighten our graphics development load here. If we have one less 3D mode to worry about, there's more TLC we can give the other two -- normal (Keyboard 1) and Zoom-Out (Keyboard 2) -- 3D modes.
At this point, no plans, just asking.

No objections...
I use it in large scenaros to find HQs and orgs. Its not a big deal if it is gone.
I, too, use it with larger scenarios, mostly for that initial perusal before starting my first move.
Not a big deal to me if it went away. Larger HD monitors limit the need anyway.

Assume we retain:
- 3D Normal mode (keyboard 1)
- 3D Zoom-Out mode (keyboard 2)
- 2D Normal mode (keyboard 4)
- 2D Zoom-Out mode (keyboard 5)
Now assume we slot just one more graphics mode.
Next question: Between these next two,
either/or only (
assume you can't have both)
- the current 3D Extreme Zoom-Out mode (keyboard 3)
- a brand new 2D Zoom-In mode (keyboard 3, replacing the preceding), with larger hexes and units
which of those two would you prefer, find most useful?
Again:
At this point, no plans, just asking.
I use it a lot when looking at the range of HQs and seeing which of my units are within that range.
That is the reason I use it as well.
Berto
I echo Scud's sentiments.
I use it for the initial lay of the land in larger scenarios at the beginning.
If anything I'd like the extreme 2D zoom out gone; key (5), I hardly every use it.
However, the idea of a zoom in 2D is good but I will say that I almost exclusively play CS in 3D.
Thanks

We're all so different.
I play exclusively 3D, because I find the 2D modes so uncomfortably small/tiny. With a new zoomed-in 2D (larger units & hexes), I'd begin playing 2D (while continuing to use 3D alongside, switching back and forth depending on current game phase and activity).
I have no use for Extreme Zoomed-Out 3D or Zoomed-Out 2D. Unattractively tiny!
