Interesting music choice for that trailer!
Looks good!

Has anyone here seen the 1993 German version?
I have watched bits on Youtube and it looks good.

Remember though, Enemy at the Gates was centered around the Russian sniper rather than the battle as a whole.

The 1973 book is a great read!

You can pick it up on Amazon. Good movie. An even better one, I thought, was Winter War.

Yes, it is! The best book I have ever read though, is Hell in a Very Small Place about Dien Bien Phu and not far behind that is A Time for Trumpets about the Bulge.
I am going to have to check out the Bulge book!

A few others I really liked.

Beyond Band of Brothers:
The War Memoirs of Major Dick Winters

Biggest Brother:
The Life Of Major Dick Winters, The Man Who Led The Band of Brothers

Cross of Iron by Willi Heinrich

The Wife can't understand how I can read 5 books at a time and just
pick one up to read and know whats going on in the book Jester
Best book I've read on Stalingrad is Island of Fire by Jason D Mark. A great memoir is Forsaken Army by H Gerlach and best novel Stalingrad by T Plievier.

I prefer the German Stalingrad film (the dubbed version is ruined by awful dubbing, must be watched in the German language with Subs) over Enemy at the Gates which I hated however the book is a good read..

other books worth a mention are..

Stalingrad Memories and reassessments by J Wieder and Glantz first two books of a trilogy, rather dry reading though. Also Croatian Legion by Jason Mark and Death of a Leaping Horseman. Infact Leaping Horseman publishers have several great reads on Stalingrad.
