JTS Updates Page

The change log is as follows;

Changes for Moscow '42 Version 1.01
- Corrected Klin map for double labels at Moscow.
- General Heinrici reinstated to his appropriate rank in the Winter OB.
- 61st Army reinforcements included in the December & Moscow '42 Grand Campaigns.
- Withdrawals now in chronological order in the December & Moscow '42 Grand Campaigns.
- New rocket values for Soviet Guards Mortars in both the Winter & Summer scenarios.
- LV Korp has it's command range reset from 15 to 40 in the Summer OB. All other Korps have been confirmed as correct.
- Global supply values adjusted in 15 scenarios (predominantly Fall Kreml). Both sides now have a maximum global supply value of 90.
- 112th & 146th Tank Brigades (both 16th Army) now release on the same schedule as the other forward Tank Brigades - June 28, 12pm.
- Scenarios #1205_02 & #1205_02a Kalinin City now include a Soviet bridging unit for both 29th & 31st Army. An erroneous 1 point VP hex (27,16) has been removed from #1205_02.
- Scenario #1206_06 Tula Operation has had the late arriving 385th Rifle Division removed. A number of superfluous corp attachments have also been removed.
- Scenarios #a0628_09 & #a0628_09a Belev now have an additional Soviet supply source in hex (49,58).
- Scenarios #a0702_01 & #a0702_01a Bokhino have had their victory point levels adjusted, based upon further play testing.
- Various map updates named locations.
- Optional Weather file (weather - low visibility.dat). This weather file will prevent early activation of the front before December 12th. The original weather file (weather.dat) should be renamed and the weather - low visibility.dat, copied and renamed to weather.dat. A second weather file (weather - original.dat) is included if the original weather file is lost or required. In a pbem game all players should be using the same weather file.
- Optional OOB File (Moscow '42 Counterattack - improved command.oob). All Army, Division & Brigade HQ's in the historical Moscow '42 Counterattack OOB changed to C morale. This is to ensure more consistent recovery from disruption. The original OOB file (Moscow '42 Counterattack.oob) should be renamed and the Moscow '42 Counterattack - improved command.oob, copied and renamed to Moscow '42 Counterattack.oob. A second OOB file (Moscow '42 Counterattack - original.oob) is included if the original OOB file is lost or required. In a pbem game all players should be using the same OOB file.

If you have any questions, please post them in this thread.

thanks,

Ummm i see the new values in rocket units, now they have a minimal range where they cant shoot i understand that the last value show this new limit for rocket units... well at least for soviet ones i dont see this in nebelwerfer units.

Then is damage/max range/min range no???

Hard : 7/8/4
Soft: 44/8/4

But what they do in AT mode??? maybe this min range is only when rocket unit do indirect fire and when it has direct line of fire over enemy can shoot in min range???

Thanks.
David, did you have the chance to look at the couple of small OOB oddities/possible errors I PM'ed you about in April?

The note regarding the Soviet HQ's is also slightly misleading, as all D morale HQ's were upgraded, but the B morale HQ's were not downgraded.
I'm getting a message saying Can't create output file C:\John Tiller Software\Moscow'42\Moscow'42.exe
Gary, I had the same error. I found my game .exe was marked Read Only, I unchecked it and no more error. To check, you need to open the game install folder, find the Moscow42.exe file, right click on it and check properties.

If that doesn't help let us know.

Pieter,

I did take into account your comments. Firstly, I believe the various battalions in 78th Infanterie Division balance themselves out. There is a fair bit of variation between sources on the timing of the disbanding of various formations and I believe I have got pretty close to the right number of battalions even if the numbering maybe inconsistent with some documents. To change battalions now would impact a significant number of scenarios for only aesthetic reasons. There is no impact on play currently.

As far as the Nikitskoye ploy in the grand campaign, I decided not to change anything there. The Germans are very low on supply in the 2nd Panzergruppe sector and will wake up the opposing forces if they advance to encircle the Soviets. As you pointed out, it is a very gamey tactic and one only a player who wanted to really risk 18th Panzer Division would do.

I will mention that one player has reported that 249th Rifle Division has the wrong command range (40 instead of 8). As is always the way this was reported the day after we released the patch :) and will be corrected next time around. I will probably start a new update thread in the sticky above to provide interim fixes.

David
OK, that sounds reasonable.
Thanks Rick. Worked like a dreamHelmet Smile
Yes thanks Rick sorted it for me too
