Congratulations Camo Workshop team.
Excellent! Some really interesting upgrades and changes, especially if you have the CD version (which I heartily recommend).
Thanks SP CAMO!
Thanks Epoletov for the heads-up
Would this be an old school upgrade? 6 then 7, or does 7 include 6?
Hi LB

Yes, that's correct. Follow the links to the patches.

However, they have also made a new set of installers IIRC, which do all the patches at once, over the top of the initial game install. So depending on what you need to do there it might be worth a look around the release pages to see what's the best option.

Good luck.
I would have been back last August except I run Ubuntu. I was running 10.04 LTS with WINE 1.14 for windows games. SP worked great. Then I upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and the new WINE (1.5.1 I think) sneered at SP. I finally gave up trying to get WINE to work and when my tax return hit I ordered a new (reconditioned) IBM with XP pro installed. I got a KVM switch since There is no room in my computer space and I couldn't find a lap that didn't have Win 7 or 8 installed. So I will now have a computer just for playing old games on. It seems like the new games are all shooters, which I loath.
So I have my SP CD and about half a dozen other old games that I like. I'v ordered WW2 today and new speakers that are wi-fi capable so I can hang them from the ceiling. I should have everything together by this weekend if the 520 conversion kit I'm putting on my bike goes smooth. Projects. I'm trying to fill in some empty hours. The CHF was caused mostly by me getting fat and lazy. Or lazy and fat.
Last time I looked SP had slowed down a lot, so I figured I would get a running start. That means ranging fire on Jadpanther. I never could beat him at WW2 but we played a few max point battles that were close enough to make me think I could get him in a campaign.
Hope springs eternal.
I was looking at the patches for MBT and WW2. The little note with the URL to the DL said Windows 7. I went through a bit of bother finding XP pro just so I wouldn't have to suffer through Windows 7 and 8. Please tell me the patch is backward compitable. I can upgrade but I run Ubuntu and consider Vista and the more current Windoze to be malware.
I am still using XP Pro.
No problems at all with these updates.
Go for it Big Grin
Yep, XP Pro actually is the most stable Windoze. The only problem is that there is no real security. Microsucks knew it would be cheaper and quicker to re-do the kernal then go and try to "fix" XP. That won't affect me since I will NEVER hook this machine up to the web. My Linux machine is tighter then a pre-teen nun and I shut it down by pulling the plug after a session. So any bits or bytes that go on the new machine will get scrubed with the big machine before being transferred via thumb drive.
I'm only going to run Civ III Conquests, SEIV and MBT and WW2. The chip is a P4 overclocked to 3.2 gHz. 4 gigs of memory and 120gigs on the HD. So I can unclock the chip back to 1.6 and it should last me a long time. The only problem I forsee is the graphics is on the MB. If something goes south, I might be in serious trouble. But for $49.99, I can pull the chip, memory and HDD and rebuild it for less then a 'new' one would cost and still have an XP Pro machine without paying Microsucks outrageous money for a decade old OS.
