Hello,

The unit viewer wont work when running windows 8.Anyone know of any fixes?I want to install RD's sound mod but would like to be able to keep some of the original weapon sounds.

Fred
I don't have the answer for W8 compatibility, but would just recommend you to install the mod using JSGME utility. That way, you can enable and disable the sound mod at your will, and can easily experiment which new sounds you add to the system (via having them in the mod folder), and which not.

If you're not familiar with JSGME there's pretty comprehensive info with further links in the installation instruction thread of the EF:FB mod, link available in my signature down below.
Nice thing about the JSGME utility, I installed it ages ago. Don't even remember how I did it. Learn it, set it, forget it. Pretty easy.

Also, someone posted a stand alone unit viewer. I think it was on Matrix's site.

How about downloading the files into a folder (other than CS) and check the files individually through the use of "media player" or similar program?
You can listen to each sound and only put the ones that you like into the game folders?

I remember doing that with earlier sound files.

Thanks,

I got the unit viewer from the matrix forum and it works fine with Win8 but doesn't show what sound file goes with the units. My media player wont play the .oog files. The game plays them fine.

Fred
I have W8 and just tried the unit viewer. For example I picked RS, USA, Marine platoon 4th on the list. It has a box next to the picture for movement sound and another for weapon sound. They both work.

Make sure that you have the latest version installed.
Yes, they are correct, it does work. Here is how to get it:
On the final page of a Matrix Games forum thread, found here:
http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp...page=4&key=

There is a download link by Arkady to get the zip files:
http://arkady.cz/storage/JTCS_UnitViewer_1041.zip

You can pull that down and unzip it to this location on your machine (basically wherever the Tools folder is located on your local machine):
C:\Matrix Games\John Tiller's Campaign Series\Tools\JTCS_Unitviewer

I have attached that zip file to this message as well. Thanks guys, I missed having this on my machine!
