I would like to suggest the following improvements to an already stellar game:

1. Make it possible to when using the "N" hotkey (next unit) to open a saved game with a move partially completed and start with the last unit "N-ed". In large games, if you resume a turn already partially completed, you must begin "N-ing" with the northwesternmost unit. It can be time consuming to "catch up" to where unmoved units are located without this capability (as currently designed).

2. Historically, higher level HQs (Army & Corps) almost always set up operations in cities and towns, rarely in villages and almost never in the open. This enabled them to operate more effectively. Better telecommunications and road nets expedited order transmission. To reflect this, why not modify the range and/or out of command probability for HQs in cities, towns, villages, and in the open? This would also make possession of built up areas more beneficial. I'll leave it to those more qualified than me to determine the actual formulae.

3. Entraining and Detraining troops and their equipment was much easier when done in a city, town, or village where proper facilities were located. Why not penalize (or prohibit) Entraining and Detraining when in the open?

I think these improvements would make the game easier to play (#1) and more reflective of the reality of war (# 2 & 3).
Thanks for the info, I will take those into consideration.

In regards to #1, it seems like the best solution would be to have the N key go to all the unis that have full MPs first, then starts cycling through units with less than full MPs etc. That way when you load up a scenario already partially played, at least it will cycle through all remaining units that haven't moved or fired. How does that sound?

Unfortunately though, all changes are up to John as we know. All I can do is pass them along...

This mod, if do-able, would also apply to the Panzer Campaigns titles.

VM - I think this is different than the request. I don't think there is any concern with units that have expended partial movement points, or fired, etc. I think the idea is strictly that the game note where the current walk through of the unmoved units is at, so when it is re-opened it can continue from there instead of restarting from scratch. I have struggled with that in really big scenarios, where you get half way through, need to quit, and when you come back to it you have to start with the 193 units you already reviewed and decided not to move, rather than with the 194th unit that hasn't expended movement points yet.

Can't you highlight moved units, and start around where they let off?

Ah, OK. Well, I don't really see that happening then. To keep track of it like that, then the save file would have to keep track of a list or pointer where the user was in the list of "N" units. I just don't see that is as a relatively simple change unfortunately.

Thank you Rick. You have captured the essence of my request perfectly.
