Well here I am again looking for an allied opponent for a
Normandy 44 campaign. Please only respond if your a committed
experienced player.

I have just finished 2 campaigns playing both sides.
As allied, I won major victory 9499 points axis player conceded turn 25.
As Axis, I won. Allied major defeat -1252 allied player conceded turn 42.

What I am looking for is someone who will go the distance on a 750 turn
campaign. Someone who will not throw in the towel when there forces are being thrown back into the sea? I in return will not concede until all my forces are completely wiped out. ( I understand life throws things in, but we can tackle them if and when they happen)

I also understand that this is going to be a long game, so if your truly up for it let me know.

Normandy 44 #30x Alt (normandy campaign 6 June - 19 Aug)
Volcano mods and map. upto date patch.

Optional rules
Arty set up
recon spot
low viz air effects
quality fatigue mod
night fatigue
explit supply
program weather
limited air recon

I am tempted to take you up on your offer....I played as the axis to turn 257 before the allies conceded.

It was a fun game, lots of planning..mini operations, and even some nail biting before the storm saved me.

The end was ugly, with SS and Lehr divisions grinding into the allies, with massive nebelwerfer fire.

My only regret is it ended just before Rommel could show up.

explicit supply? have not heard that being used in N44 before
My mistake.
Optional rules.
All I ask is that I have Low visibility air, Limited recon, and night fatigue.
I am thinking of starting an A.A.R. for the campaign. As I would like to see
how it could all pan out. (It might make a good book.)

As I have read a few books on
the subject. My chosen best being.
Decision in Normandy (Carlo d'este)
Overlord (Max hasting)
D-Day (Antony Beevor)
plus operational books regards units and tactics.
12th SS (stackpole)
the polar bears
Disaster at D-day (the german defeat the allies June 1944 Peter Tsouras
German defeat in the west (blah blah blah)....

Anyhow. if anyones interested, let me know. Rest assured I do have a good turn rate?

Great

Send your e-mail to [email protected] and I will set the game up. We will go with virtual supply.

Have you considered trying it as a team game? Say a 4vs4 or 4vs3 or even 4vs2? But definitely have to have the same type of players though. But if a player dropped, might be easier to get a replacement. If you go that route, I would join Cesar on the Allies. Four allies makes an easy split with Utah and paras, Omaha, Gold and Juno, Sword and the Brit paras. Eventually becoming a split of the U.S. 3 Army, U.S. 1 Army, Canadien 1 Army and Brit 2 Army. Not real sure about the German split would be better with 2, 3 or 4 players. I imagine forces will shift more on the German side than the Allied side though, just guessing. Ya'll could be the respective CinCs and recruit your own team where rather than me or anybody else volunteering, ya'll could send out request to a few people, say Cesar sends out to 3 others because he wanted a 4 man team. If all accept, team is set, one doesn't, he sends out an email to his next choice, same for Germans. Just a thought.

Actually, that only averages to around 550-600 per turn. A max stacking of SS engineers assaulting can kill 100-150 per assault. And you can have a few such stacks. The 300 tubes of Nebelwerfers (which I only fire if they are stockpiled) can kill a couple hundred per turn as well.

And a 100 panzers in a hex will dish out around 150 casualties per turn as well just shooting. And you have a few such stacks.

The Germans ability to cause damage seemed to be much higher then the allies during the (alt) scenario.

Although the allies can mitigate it somewhat. They have to use counterbattery on any german artillery. That stuff adds up turn after turn of firing. You can absolutely gut the nebelwerfers if you recon the hex after getting the '?' for counterbattery.

Would alt artillery rules will help?...prevents death star stacks
