Still playing the old CS games (nonMatrix) Can anyone tell me how to fire flares? Playing on W7 won't dl the help file. Can't remember how to do this....
Select whichever unit you want to do it, best to use mortars, etc., doesn't matter if they are low on ammo, can still attempt it. Then, depress the movement/Fire mode button on the bar at the bottom so it is in fire mode. Now, with both the shift/alt depressed, select your target hex, better not too far away, 2-3 hexes for mortars, 1-2 for infantry, then right click. It will tell you if it doesn't work, or a flare will pop illuminating the hex and surrounding hexes. Hope this helps!!

Which increases the fun of trying to fire a starshell (and repeatedly failing to do so). Good cheap fun :d
Yeah, in my Korean War game, I've upped the chance to 80%, more realistic.
You can also fire flares by going to a DOS prompt and typing "format C:"
