From the "In the Shadow of the Hill" tournament game I am playing right now. These guys are heading forward to engage a Churchill tank. It did not end well for them. I like the way the light and smoke inter play on the buildings and on the men.

US mortar crews and MMG teams defending the bocage line during the battle for le Desert, with heavy casulaties. But the line holds!

Thanks!
Monsieure Pinke's picture was really nice especially with the tanks and their camo and the infantry.

Weasel's "Mr Panther" pic was also neat to see.

MadMike's picture "took the cake" for me. He was able to capture a rare camera angle which showed the defending Americans and also the attacking German's in the same shot.

Nicely done! Thumbs Up

BTW, what was the outcome of that firefight?Smile

Cheers, Compass Rose.

the firefight ended well enough, but only because my opponent chose to withdraw his Panther to employ it elsewhere. I got one halftrack with the bazooka, but from then on, it got worse for the defenders.
My opponent targeted the bocage line and the troops were hit by heavy mortar fire, maybe only one third of the troops in the picture survived. But it was enough to convince my opponent to try his luck elsewhere, where I could aim with my own battery of 105s, which turned around the battle for me. So this defence was quite crucial and ultimately a great effort by an ad-hoc defence team. Helmet Smile
Time to close this as well...
This week's winner is: Monsieure Pinke!
Congrats!
