Ok,here's the situation. I badly trashed Fubar's troops in our previous game and now he's back looking for revenge Big Grin Rumor has it he promised he'll sacrifice ten..ahem..virgins to the gods of war if he'll be victorious and somehow i'm inclined to believe there is some truth in this...

Below is the map,the (future) valley of sorrows for my esteemed opponent.

As you can see i have 4 out of 5 objective zones close to my setup zone. The 'Northern Ridge' is closer to Fubar's zone and since it's bigger than the rest i can only assume it carries more points.
Hill 1234 overlooks the area, with a patch of woods on my left.

Assumptions on Fubar's plans:
1. My setup zone is in the bottom-right corner,so i'll assume he will start from upper-left.
2. I think there are big chances he'll try to quickly infiltrate the woods on my left, then proceed towards 'my' objectives. Basically, those woods are the only area on the map on which the infantry will have some sort of cover.
3. I don't believe he'll directly try a heads-on approach towards hill 1234.I should have the upper ground there and his infantry has no cover.

My Force Selection
1. 3 Pz IV + 3 Marders
2. 3x 81mm mortar batteries (off-map)
3. 1 75mm AT Gun
4. 1 under-strength infantry company. Each platoon has only 2 rifle squads instead of the normal 3,but each platoon has a scout team and a tank hunter team attached. The automatic weapons of the scouts should give me a nice edge if there will be fighting at close range in the woods
5) 3 TRPs

My Plan
a) I have the AT gun protecting my right flank, just in case Fubar decides to be sneaky. It should be a very nasty surprise given it's position and the surrounding terrain, if he'll move armor in that direction.
b)The infantry [the 3 red lines] will move through the woods. I placed my 3 TRPs in that area,so if he'll make his move in that direction, like i believe he'll do,i'll first call the arty then use my infantry to finish off his infantry.
c)The armor will be kept in reserve until i'll figure out what troops he has and where he'll be attacking.
We are 5 minutes into the battle and no contact has been established so far.
My forward scouts are on top of hill 1234-as can be seen in the image-and no enemy movement so far.
Unfortunately the terrain is so abrupt that even if i position my troops on top of the hill they have limited los to the surrounding terrain.
I guess we shall see how this goes, sooner or later Fubar's troops should make their move towards my objectives.

Seven minutes have passed and my forward scouts have managed to make contact with Fubar's troops. 3 Sherman tanks have been IDed. They don't seem to be accompanied by infantry which might work in my favor.

In any case,i orderer my armor to advance through the woods. If Fubar will try to advance towards the mountain pass my armor should be able to popup and engage his Shermans in the sides.

Good Stuff Raz!

Popcorn 2
Eight minutes have passed and i managed to spot a fourth Sherman. No accompanying infantry in sight, though.
Fubar is cautiously moving his armor forward in small steps,i wonder what's he up to. Probably,he's recalling what happened in our previous game when he boldly pushed his tanks and men forward and ended up with a total defeat on his plate,as a result Big Grin
Raz, can you refresh my memory; what are TRPs?
TRPs = Target Reference Points. Locations pre-registered for arty fire;will greatly reduce the time between the moment you order the arty strike and the moment when it's actually delivered.
Thanks!
9 minutes have passed and i have the chance to take a glimpse at the armada Fubar is throwing against me.

Sgt Decker is nervously looking at the 4 Shermans that lie ahead. Not exactly a reassuring view when all you have to defend yourself is a mg,some rifles and a pistol!
And that's not event all,two other Shermans were spotted by his comrades.

At this point i have 6 confirmed Shermans heading my way, albeit slowly. They don't seem to have any infantry around, although those tanks only account for about half the points Fubar had for purchasing troops.
Another details that mind turn to be crucial: they don't face towards the woods from where my panzers should appear at the right time. Fubar is an experienced CMx1 player, but with somehow limited CMx2 experience. Perhaps he doesn't know that unlike CMx1 tanks can cross through woods?
