Pay special attention to those spotting rounds landing near your troops. It might be difficult to see it with all the action around,but it pays off. Look for smoke/dust which is otherwise unaccounted for,then determine if it's a spotting round or it has other causes.
If you see it it means you have 1-2 minutes before the enemy will unleash the whole furry of his arty assets on top of your boys. Pull your men back or get them inside buildings if you have some nearby.
