I tried to play a desert scenario today and as I opened the scenario I received the following error message: Failure to Create Bitmap Surface: C:\Matrix Games\John Tiller's Campaign Series\West Front\DES-3dUnpaved.bmp.

In the 3d most zoomed in mode, unpaved roads are not visible. They are visible in other viewing modes.

Any advice on how to fix this?
Not sure, but there's a "Des-Unpaved3d.bmp" in the games main folder. You could try making a copy of it and renaming the copy "DES-3dUnpaved.bmp".

If that works then let Jason know what the scenario is in case it's something in the code.

It's across all scenarios with dry desert. And I mis-typed in my original post. The error message contains Des-Unpaved3d.bmp in its body, and also in the error message. Is it possible this file became corrupted?
That file is missing if you are receiving that message. Let me know if you need the file?

Warhorse,

Would you mind sending me the file? [email protected]. Thanks.

Hey man, sent, let me know if that does it?
I've had weird crap happen, recently all the bocage hexsides looked like blueish, like water or something. I dunno, ghost in the machine or some weird s***!!

Warhorse,

Yes, it worked. My guess is the file was corrupted. I, too, have seen some weird stuff. During a recent game, I had a PaK38 in a hex. It was un-disrupted and un-fatigued. A T-34 platoon showed up two hexes away. In my turn, I put the crosshairs of the PaK 38 on the T-34 and instead of the "14" which I expected, a "5" popped up, and there was no soft attack factor displayed. This is not the only time I've seen something like this. Ever have the same/a similar experience?
