I am using Vista; downlaoded and installed campaign series; when I try and load a scenario I reicve Error Code 486. Any suggestions, thoughts?

I have not installed any patch, merely the game.

You should install the 1.04 UPDATE.

You can download it here:

http://www.matrixgames.com/products/318/downloads/

Unzip the compressed file and run the exe. Keep you serial number handy as you'll need it as part of the installation.

I have attempted this, and while it gets me further along, the game still does not load. I will delete it and attempt another download this evening.
Perhaps it corrupted in download?

Purely a personal thing, but I'd drop Vista - worst OS ever in my opinion

I know, I hate it. It just flat out blows.
Can you tell where it is being installed? Hover your mouse over the shortcut on the desktop, or find in Explorer. Sorry if you might already know this, some folks don't, just trying to narrow down the problem. Error 486 is a registry error dealing with missing DLL files, just making me think here... Can you sort your directory by file type, and list what DLL files are listed? Make sure to have view all files listed.
I'm surprised to hear the negative comments about Vista.

I've been running it since its inception and have really had no issues. I kind if like it for everything but occasionally it seems to like to do stuff in the background and then all of the sudden, something pops up saying you need to care care of this, so I take care of it.

As for the CS Series it works fine for me on Vista. I've had no issues.

i am having nothing but issues. Perhaps it is the download? I will try a fresh one, but this is killing me. I takes me over fout hours to get a downlaod here in kenya. OK, I'll quit complaining and just get back after it.
