Hello Blitzers,

Can someone please explain to me why I get an invalid data parameter everytime I add try and add a survey?

Now it just happened again when I was trying to add a scenario test report!

It is very frustrating...

Hey John!

In regards to submitting H2H test reports... I have found that the fewer punctuation symbols you type in the report (e.g. , - " #, etc.)... the less chance of you seeing the dreaded "invalid data parameter" error message... and losing all your written comments! :hissy:

I've also learned... when filling out H2H test reports... is to copy & paste your comments into a Word doc... so you can paste your comments back into the test report if gets "deep sixed." It takes a few more minutes... but is worth it! :)

Sorry you are experiencing this difficulty... cause I know whose scenario you are attempting to file a test report on! ;)
Hi John,

I'm trying to get an answer for you. I'll let you know when I know. The extra characters Mike refers to should be taken care of in the code when the form submits, so shouldn't be the cause.

Dave

I hope so too Dave.

It seems that this "invalid data parameters" issue crops up occasionally? :chin:

As far as the H2H reports go this issue occurs when a member is not logged into the main site, for reasons unknown occasionally the site logs you out but you still are shown as logged in at the forums, this has happened to me perhaps five times in a year.

So when you submit a test report you must ensure you are shown as logged in at the top RH corner of the page, otherwise you will get the dreaded "Invalid Data Parameters" message.

I have tried in the past to have our webmaster change the code so it is not possible to fill out a test report when not logged in, i will endeavour to bring this issue to his attention again. ;)
Hey thanks guys!!!

All very interesting and informative comments. Foul, I do see that I am maybe logged in but I guess your saying that is not totally legit. At the top bar I see as I've always seen when I am logged in, My Profile; Control Panel; Private Messages and Log out... perplexed, should I see a bar "logged in"?

I was beginning to think I was going nuts or perhaps I'd been thrown out of the blitz universe, "oh heaven help me I'd probably commit suicide!"

Mike, I am sorry!!
As for my test report, I had one hell (sorry if I offend anyone) of a great summary for you because I believe in my heart your scenario is close to perfection. But unfortunately its all lost. I hope my 57 year old ,and on occasion bourbon and beer soaked memory can recall all I said. The universe needs to see your scenario balanced and above all exciting! It is very close to that playing the Germans and that comes from my heart!
"What am I going to do to stop him??!" ..from turn 3 on that's all I kept saying to myself!

Not knowing the club rules fully on H2H would it be OK if I sent a private e-mail to Mike and copied another officer like Scud or Foul with my summary on the scenario?

I'm just trying to get the moving forward!

Hi John! :smoke:

Many thanks for the kind words regarding my "Bedlam in Belorussia" scenario! Big Grin

Please write up a test report and send to me via email - copy Darran (Foul). That way, I'll get your comments... and Foul can award you ladder bonus points! cheers

I know that my scenario will need to go through one more round of testing... so no harm in not being able to submit a H2H report.

Thanks again for your persistence and in helping to play test "Bedlam in Belorussia!" cheers

Mike,

I did get a report to finally take by logging out and then logging back into the site! Not sure what that was all about but it took but does not have the detail I orginally tried to post. I'll send that to you and Darran in a seperate so you have it for your records on the scenario.

Thanks for putting up with the; shall we say hog droppings, on trying to get this test report in!

I owe you a beercheers
