Full Version: One more time.... The Infamous Assault Bug

Greetings gents,

Just popped in to say again, I just ran into the assault bug. Might want to fix this if we get a chance.

To recap: If you have an assault planned and continue to fire on the hex with other units, (to further disrupt and degrade the enemy) if the last enemy unit retreats from the hex and you hit "conduct assault" (or whatever the drop down menu says) instead of "cancel assault" the game crashes when the subroutine tries to assault the empty hex.

This should be a simple fix (at least in my opinion).

I have come across this and simply do all my supressive fire before I start the assault so it can't happen

I noticed this another day as well, testing my scenario against AI. Good to know the "bug" is not located between the chair and keyboard this time...

I find it useful on occasion, particularly with jam packed hexes, to commit various units that are going to make the assault so they cannot accidentally have their action points used up in direct fire.

Exactly, that's how I got into trouble as well...
Fair point folks - I just hope this one is a priority for 1.05
