I'd like to say thank you to Von Earlmann for the scenario "Bridgehead at Rzhavets" I got interested in this with the team game going on and the AAR in the forum.
I have been lucky enough to find a good opponent to play this against and found it fascinating.
In my oppinion the scenario gives a great feeling of what the actual battle must have been like. On the one hand you have the Axis attacking with devasting precision and the Russians taking lots of casualties. But on the other hand the Axis were running out of time and the Russians were steadily inflicting lots of losses on them, gradually wearing the attack down.
In the end time ran out for the Axis and other events in other theaters of the war proved decisive.
