I am happy to announce JTCS is now a small step closer towards the evasive perfectness (is that a word?)...

Here it is: https://www.theblitz.club/message_boards...hp?fid=241

The Lapland War Mod is available for those eager to have a look at it! It includes an Allied Finland OOB, while adding a few new units into stock while at it. No existing units or scenarios are touched, but I still recommend it to be added as a separate parallel copy to vanilla EF installation.

Some features:

- III Army Corps OOB as it was when it entered the war
- New units, including Combat engineers, Pz IVs, snipers, Anti-Tank Squads, ...

To have some fun with it, I added my little test scenario **Crusaders at Hango there as well: https://www.theblitz.club/message_boards...?tid=60409

I will add a couple of Lapland War scenarios into it, and welcome all you designers out there to do the same!

And finally, thanks to Jason Petho and Mike Amos for their continuing support to this great little game engine! Without you two this would not have been possible

The first round of Lapland icebeer is on me! cheers
"Perfection" would be better, Petri, but no big deal.
Want to try the scenario, and defend Hango against my close-to-perfectness Finns? :smoke:
I finally got my act together and upgraded my Kuuterselka 1944 scenario to new and "proper" units.

It is now available in Lapland Mod sub forum, here: https://www.theblitz.club/message_boards...#pid354246

I tweaked it a bit to make the fight even a bit more difficult for Axis player. If anyone of you is interested to try it out I am available to play it (as Russian player, preferrably).

Now that out of way, I will try to have my Vuoksi Bridgehead 1944 scenario out.

A gorgeous map has been done like a year ago, a thorough unit and battle research is completed Read2, all it needs now is a bit of work. Should be a blast of a scenario, with a massive river awaiting to be crossed! Help5

Dear all,

I finally managed to complete the first completely new scenario to be played with my Lapland War Mod.

**Across River Vuoksi LWM puts a strong Russian forcemix crossing a grand river, versus infantry heavy Finnish defender. Pontoon bridges and amphibious units should guarantee tons of fun. All bridges are "blowable", due to having a river over the hex edge. Plenty of engineers available for both destroying and fixing them as well.

It is now equipped with Russian Bn HQs as well, I have changed my view on this and will next add them to my **Bitter Kuuterselka scenario as well. Edit: Done. New version available at the Mod sub forum

Here it is:

I have tested it vs AI, and would now appreciate a real test vs human players.

At the same token, there's an updated 1.01 version of Finnish OOBs. No changes to encrypted platoons.
On another note:

All the changes I did to Finnish OOBs are backwards compatible.

This would mean that hopefully the Lapland Mod is added to JTCS 1.5 "as-is". I am keeping everything in the Mods subforum until that however.

Perhaps at that time the scenarios are also played enough so any balance related changes are made, and I will add them to dbase then.
To summarise, there are now three scenarios available:

** Across River Vuoksi LWM

Soviet push for a bridgehead over Vuoksi river. July 1944.

** Bitter Kuuterselka LWM 1.01

Soviet attempt of breaking through a weak point at Finnish main defence line. June 1944

** Crusaders at Hango LWM

A hypothetical scenario with Finns attacking Germans at Hango. Based on D. Bevard Hango scenario set in 1941. August 1944.

Hmm... Next scenario needs to start with "D"... Idea2

I know it is not much but it is a start. I will slowly, very slowly, add new ones.

Anyone feeling like adding scenarios to Finno-Soviet front of 1939 - 1945 please feel free to do so! There's three separate wars to pick from!
Hey Perti: Smoke7

It's obvious that a LOT of hard work and love went into your Lapland War Mod! Respect3

Congratulations to see your efforts pay off! Big Grin

Another "win-win" for CS players!
Thanks Mike, appreciated! :)
