I want to better understand opportunity fire. I want to know why my fausts never fire when they are being overrun by T34s. I looked through the rules and found nothing to describe defensive fire. Did I just miss it? Is opfire parameter editable?

Thanks in advance.

John had mentioned that their policy is not to reveal opportunity fire algorithms in order to prevent gamey tactics. As far as I know single fire weapons such as panzerfaust dont fire in enemy's turn. While it is sometimes frustrating special usage weapons need players' specific commands.

That's interesting, Oz. I always put those weapons on 'hold fire' because I was concerned my pixel warriors would fire them willy-nilly during OP fire.

I do the same.

Good Question tallin!

I am not %100 positive about the single fire weapons Alan. Though I can't remember a situation panzerfasuts reacted to enemy movement. It is always safe to switch hold fire. Unfortunately there is no ambush or engagement range feature in SB.

Be nice if a single use AT weapon or a bazooka/Piat/Psk had a some chance to fire when an armored vehicle attempts to overrun. Put that down on changes I'd like to see!

Thanks for the response Oz!!

Ditto for me.

I haven't got any problems with it at moment Kev, though I am finding MG42 fire to be a little too hot now :)
As a follow up, my gaming partner and I did see a 'faust defensive fire at a Russian tank that was two hexes away from the 'faust after the Russian tank fired at a German tank. I did not have the 'faust on hold fire. Mystery deepens.
I thought I had seen this before, which is why I usually use the Hold Fire. Too many times my infantry opted to use these weapons against softer targets.
