What's the best way for a destroyer to get AA protection as it moves offshore?

I have discovered an answer. Place some empty LCVP's around the ship. They have an AA attack of 2. I just shot 2 german fighter bombers out of the sky that were attempting to attack a Brit destroyer (using a test scene).
