I'm downloading the demo now, if i like it i was planning to buy it as a digital download direct from BF. Is that option available to customers outside the US or will i have to buy from another supplier e.g. like the old Euro CDV versions of the CMx1 games?

From my knowledge the game can be bought only from BFC. There are no third party suppliers.
And yes,the option is available to non-US customers.

There is no problem if you live outside US, I think. I have purchased the game in BFT online store and I live in Spain.
