Full Version: nuclear termination was invoke.

Hi Everyone
I'm playing NATO 2nd player, my opponent Warsaw Pact 1st player.
My turn starts with nuclear termination was invoke. I play my turn game over with 15 turns left. My opponent and I do not know why it was invoke. Can someone share some light.

When you started the game you used the optional rule "Nuclear Scenario Termination"

– when this rule is selected, then a premature termination of the scenario is possible under certain circumstances. If at least half the number of turns in the scenario have been played and one side in the scenario has a Major Victory, then the scenario is terminated with the implication being that global nuclear war has started. This rule is simply for entertainment and has no other effect on the game. Unlike other Optional Rules, this rule does not become a default optional rule when selected and must be selected again for each scenario.

Back when my opponent and I were both playing our 1st MC game against each other, we had the same thing happen. Shocked and surprised at what had just happened and disappointed that we were unable to play out the rest of the game, we didn't even bother counting it as a ladder game. Lucky for us we selected a small scenario!

Needless to say, we don't play with that optional rule selected anymore!
