Looking for 1 opponent to test 5.5 with.
Battle is Syria Vs Jordan. Tomorrow (May 2011). Map is 307. All switches on. 10 or 12 thousand points, more if you want. Map is large and 10K points doesn't buy much in 2011. Inflation. Neither side has ICM, so ordinance resupply and air strikes are negotiable. Visibility Must be over 40, since Syria has few 40 vis units and no MBT's with it. Turns +30, since it is a large map and a LOT of city.:hissy: Your choice of sides, which means I'll end up with Syria. That's OK, I'm more into a good fight then winning or losing.:kill:

I was going to contact you anyway after I get a player for this game. I need a new opponent, or at least one I havn't played in a while. I want to use a 'fresh face' to form an opinion of 5.5
So far I'm playing and old opponent who I have been playing for over a decade and one that isn't Blitz oriented. We have been playing off ladder for several years.
I don't like what I've seen of 5.5 so far. It looks like Infantry got a LOT tougher, which acts to make artillery a lot weaker. So I want to try some things out before going back to being slaughtered by my regular opponents.

It's not the ladder thingie. Without looking it up, I think I have about a dozen consecutive defeats. Not sure what the record is but I have to be close. My regular opponents like yourself know how I play so I wouldn't consider it a balanced test of 5.5
I'm about to get busy in the real world. So I have to decide what to do about my hobbies. Which ones I have time for, which ones I have to put down. I have 'till the end of summer to decide, so I'm taking my time in hopes of a better decision.
I think it all depends on a balance. I say but not easy.
I must admit that for me, this game is an addiction. But when things in real life call me, there I am. Entertainment is good. Now if one chooses a leisure is another issue.
