In a PBEM game, what determines when results of units firing on enemy units is displayed and when the results are not displayed?

Hmm.. just taking a stab here... I'd say if you have a direct line of sight on the hex and the unit wasn't concealed (spotted) prior to the fire that it would seem reasonable to see some feedback...
Dunno for sure though.
Yes, LOS appears to affect the results being displayed. I think terrain might have something to do with it, too. If it is stated in the manual, I'm missing it.
You will not get feedback if the target is in covered terrain. And you need LOS too.
