To all my opponents. I could potentially have a problem with my PC. During the last few days I have received files form opponents and when opening, it asked me for the password of another game than the one intended. I first thought that my opponents must have sent me the wrong files by accident as this has happened before. However, I found that it happened with three of my opponents all at the same time!! Then I also received e-mails back from 2 or 3 of my other opponents, saying that I have sent them the wrong files even though I am pretty sure that I didn't. Even if I did I don't believe that I would have done it as many times and to as many opponents all at the same time.
That makes me think that my PC is maybe busy stuffing around.
In one case I got a file from a player (Gila), and when opening it asks me for the password of the Slovak player. I e-mailed Gila but he says that he doesn't even have a game going against any player that is playing as the Slovaks. Neither do I.
Could it be that my PC is changing files by random?
So for those that I am playing against. It seems that it does work after the second attempt to send the files, either way. Can I ask that you have a bit of patience while we play. We can still play, but it could be that we have to send the same turn through more than once every now and then. Luckily I am nearly done with most of these games that I find the problems on. :conf:
Anybody that maybe has some advice on how to fix this?
Wow!
That is s strange problem bro.
I have never seen anything like that happen to my games / files.

Just occasionally I send the wrong file, or my oppo does, and you get the usual warnings.
A whole bunch od files going haywire...very strange.

How is your computer behaving with all other applications?
Is everything else running normally?
Maybe you have a Hard Drive that is about to fry itself?

Good luck!!
Make sure you have correct files, send just the .dat file (without zipping it) and make sure you copy it to the correct folder. Not sure what else you can do, this is the first time I've heard about this kind of problem.
@ Walrus,
Yep the PC is running everything else perfectly. Historically it's a very stable machine. I never download any stuff from the internet except SP files and e-mails. I've got an updated version of AVG, so yes I think the machine is hassle free. One thing that did happen recently (few days ago) however is that it all of a sudden detected new hardware that it wants to load a driver for, except that I didn't install anything. Maybe it's a sign.
My new Core I5 2500K should be home during March though. Just need to pay the kid's school fees this month. Thereafter I will format this PC and give it to the kids to play their games on.

@Vesku,
Yep, I have only one version of WW2 and MBT that I use to play SP on. I normally make sure that I copy the files to the correct folder.
A few weeks ago, a guy I know was having a similar type of problem. He was being asked for a password when trying to install newly unzipped game files. He was told the following by a tech guy. "It sounds like your antivirus program is being overly protective. Did you update that recently? Try disabling it, and download your game files again and reloading them".

It might work for you too.

Good Luck!
That's very interesting. I never thought about that.
Last night the PC told me twice that my 'security path has changed or the file is corrupt'.
I'll check out the anti-virus program, otherwise I should maybe re-install SP on my PC.
