Chris

I am getting mail bouncing back from your address.
This is the message...

SMTP error from remote server in greeting:

Your connection from xxxxxxx has been rejected due to poor reputation.

Poor reputation! How dare they!!! Big Grin
(xxxx was an IP address...edited by me)

I have to go to work.
I will try to send it again later eh.

Cheers
Chris
Still mail not getting through.
Will try again.
Hi Chris

Still no joy.
I shall keep trying.
I tried a mial with no attachment, but still no luck.
Bouncy bouncy.

Cheers
Poor reputation, very strange but it sounds like it is your server SHAW is targeting, not you. Will check out SHAW and see what it says there.

Sorry for slow delay, hardly ever on the boards anymore.
Did a bunch of reading and I guess poor reputation is caused by spam being sent out from your email address; are you sure you don't have a virus? Try running spybot (free) and malware megabytes (free) to confirm. Also you will have to check with your IP host too if the problem continues. Also, an auto-reply bot on your cpu can cause it too as they get black listed.

I will check the boards each day until we get this worked out.
Hi Bro

OK, just did a Spybot and Avirus scan.
Nothing.

You are the only person I communicate with that is having problems getting my mail.
Not sure if that means it's a problem at my end?

Just D/Ling Malware megabyte now in case the others missed something.

Will send turns via that other mail address in the meantime.

We'll sort it out eventually eh.

Cheers

I will contact SHAW just in case and post back here.
Ok, talked to my IP tech support and the problem is on your end, my IP is totally fine and in good standing. He said that the spam bot could be on your system, or it could be on your network too, throwing spam when you or anyone else on your network emails. So you will have to call your IP HOST, I will email you my IP address. Also, if you are running wireless ensure your router is closed so others around you cannot use your IP to surf/email (my brother does that, he lives in an apartment building and uses all the free bandwidth).

He also said you can go to 'cisco iron ports sender base security network' (google it) which will list your IP if you are black listed.

http://www.senderbase.org/

I checked it out and it said mine was poor, but I think they are all poor so I don't know how much stock I put in this site. You click on the REPUTATION button on the right and enter your IP .

You can also go to SHIELDS UP and run some free security tests on your machine to see if everything is closed.

http://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?rh1dkyd2

If that doesn't take you right to shields up then look under the services tab. Run the ports and file sharing tests. As far as the internet is concerned, my computer doesn't exist.
Hi Bro

Cheers for all the info.

My router is always locked.
I checked my IP address using the links below and a couple of others.
No problems at all...all reputation is good.
All ports are closed.

I will have to try and get hold of my IP host...but that could take some time as they are bloody useless.

I will play my turn and send via the alternate address...but will also send mail from my usual address to see if anything gets through.

I must have sent 50 emails yesterday in doing my business...absolutely no issues with anyone getting them...so I am confused as to how my IP host could be causing the problem with just your emails.

Strange eh.
Turn 07 sent via alternate mail.
Email host emailed...now we wait.
like I said, it could be your IP host itself, not necessarily your IP alone.

That sucks that you have to wait for your IP guy to get hold of you, SHAW tech support is up 24/7, even Xmas. I had to wait a whole 30 seconds to talk to them today.

got the turn
