I have posted a small tutorial about moving, viewing unit stats, loading on transports and plotting simple artillery attacks for the WW2 version.

The sound is a bit loud I will have to fine tune that next time. I didnt want to go into strategy in this series because...well I stink.

But I just wanted to give a brief overview on how to move, look at things and such that confused me when I first started out. Mainly for totally new players.

Well thats it, thanks for your time
Good stuff BF.

Nice to see the game in wide screen. A couple of my boys have the 1080p LCDs and they look nice, but I've yet to give up on my old CRT. I guess I have a reason to get one now.

A suggestion for your next tutorial: Go into PREFERENCES in the game, and turn OFF the BATTLE FX button. Then you won't be trying to speak over all the ambient battlefield sounds. I never play the game with those annoying sounds turned on anyway.

Another suggestion for your game set up. When you move a vehicle it appears to instantly arrive at the destination, as if it teleported ;-).

This may be partly the slow frame capture rate of FRAPS, but you can adjust vehicle movement in the GAME OPTIONS screen (when you first open the game) There's a MISC tab. At the bottom of the MISC window you can adjust:

Graphics Delay.....40 ms
Unit Move Delay....50 ms

I think those are the default settings in milliseconds

I haven't adjusted the graphics delay much, but I have the unit move delay set to 300ms for the vehicles to move smoothly along a road at what looks like the correct speed for the scale (for my PC).

cheers

Ah yes the sound made me mad after I went back and saw the final thing. Thanks for the timer settings, I have been fudging with those all week trying to find the optimal settings for the game between that and the message delay also, as well as the scroll distance in pixels at the edge of the screen which I may have set too high because it is ultra sensitive at scrolling near the edge.
