Gents:

Today is Pearl Harbor Day... let us never forget our military personnel sacrifices on that dreadful day... and ALL days. Flag

I thought it would be a fitting tribute on this day to share with folks another sacrifice made by brave men who set out in canoes and kayaks to take the battle to the enemy during World War Two.

These are the Cockleshell Heroes... and I have additional information and links to the exploits of these brave souls on my kayak blog.

Update to my Cockleshell Canoes salute! :)

After I posted the initial story to my kayak blog ... the author of the referenced Cockleshell Canoe book... Quentin Rees himself commented on my posting! :eek1: You can read his comments here.

Fascinating story about a little know "fact"... the use of military canoes and kayaks in WWII! Enjoy! cheers
