Hey all, just tinkering around with a mini DCG set in late WW2 with the U.S. against the Russians, something a little different. Historical, nah, fun, loads!! Still working on it, here's a screenie. U.S. is Axis country, and have enlisted the remnants of the German Army to help.

Surprised more hasn't been done in this genre?
I created a massive scenario myself with the Europeans vs a German/Soviet alliance.
Unfortunately, I think people go more for authentic battles and miss the fun, as you say, of a different approach. Something that could breath new life into the CS Forum?
I enjoyed the ? tutorial ? post war battle. I recall it was very tense. Anything from 46-89 is good with me.
The OOB's for the a lot of the countries goes up to 1953.

Modern Wars OOB's will be from 1948 through 1985.

I like it! When will it be available for play?
Soon. I hope. Am running it through now to see how it plays out. Am playing as a regiment, I doubled the size of the maps generated, and extended the turn amounts to another 1/2 times the usual alloted amount to compensate. I like a little elbow room to maneuver!! So far so good, second battle, since the Americans are using the Italian slot(#2) there isn't an option for an armored core, but that's okay too. It will require you to use the JSGME mod swapper to play, as there are many modified files. Right now I replaced the Storm on the Reich DCG, but will have it's own slot when I'm finished. Would also like to see if the DCG will use 1946 on slots, don't think right now it will let you go past 1945, just like it won't use any nation slots over 21, hence the need to put the Americans in slot 2!! Any ideas give a yell. If any interest in playtesting it, please feel free to email me. It needs tested playing as the Soviet also.

Yes I remember that now, you can make scenarios post 45 but not DCGs.
