Gents: :smoke:

Larry's post was an observation and comment on the current "state" of the CS forums.

My thread takes that "observation" and turns it around back squarely on ourselves... CS players.

So what do we do about it? :chin:

What needs to change to encourage more participation and activity on the CS forums?

I'm asking cause I don't know. I suggested more and better posts in Larry's thread... but that requires more involvement from more folks. IMO, there has been a handful of good threads in the past 4 months... but it has been rather quiet here lately.

So to Ed, Erik, and others who wish to weigh in on this subject... in your opinions... what needs to happen here?
It's definately difficult for players who know the ins and outs of the game so well that they have no questions to ask or opinions to add. Newcomers would be helpful, since they have the most to learn. I tend to think, though, they get into a PBEM, make a friend, who then does the mentoring privately.

Maybe make Monday a topic of the week day? First CS member to initiate a new Monday's Topic of the Week gets a ladder point award? Best topic after so many months (by membership vote) gets another bonus? Or a patch? Would anyone do it?

First I apologize in advance as I am doing this from my Blackberry.

For me (and I believe others) it comes down to one issue.

Delete the post entitled "New Forum Rules". Apply the club rules to all CS members like any other club member and get rid of the "special" Scud rules.

Thanx!

Hawk
Keep dreaming, Erik.

Then Dave continue to enjoy your power trip and near dead forum.

You seem to forget that the Blitz needs members to exist while the members do not the Blitz to enjoy CS.

You also seem to forget that earlier this year you said you would remove the special rules when they were no longer needed.

Per you statement in another thread you have not had to moderate a thread in months.

Enjoy.

Hawk
You're welcome to your opinion and your ego, just as I am welcome to disagree with it, but nonetheless, the rules were put into effect because of you, Erik. I'd just forgotten.

Wow, this is new. Now you blaming your "special forum rules" on me.

All my fault despite a number of people getting banned. Interesting.

Then why did you not lift the rules when I took a 6+ month hiatus?

Well thanks for enlightening us all. You have really opened eyes I suspect.

You can dispute what you like. But this board is nearly dead and that is not my fault as I am hardly around anymore.

Thanx!

Hawk
Well I'm glad we're all enlightened now. Thanks for that.

Combine that with a very small group of people who do nothing but bring a thread down and when confronted about whine to the mods that they are being attacked.

I changed my mind, I agree with both of these statements now.

Dave
How about a scenario of the month. Players submit/discuss how to go about winning the scenario.

MILSketch could be used to express ideas.
