If I have some infantry who's been digging in for several turns and then stop, for whatever reason, if they start up again do they get better odds of building a fortified hex or is it just merely the luck of the dice? Seems to me digging in for multiple turns should count for something, right?

I would demote your sergeant and elevate a corporal who can kick arse. And give the ex-sergeant a shovel.

I can't seem to find the "demote your sergeant and elevate a corporal" button. I found the "kick arse" one though. My wife has it.

Dave,

You start over from scratch if you stop. It's all the luck of the die roll. I've had a few where the diggers could not get the job done in almost 20 turns of straight digging.
That was time to kick out the corporals and offer extra cigarettes and rations to the Privates? :chin:

Vodka works well on the East Front.......if they don't get dug in they are too inebriated to run away.

Another reason engineer units are so valuable? :chin:

Having a 20% chance of Digging In each turn can make a BIG difference! :smoke:
I know exactly what your talking about Scud, some times it seems like the game forgets about certain units digging in and the units do not dig a hole the entire game. Some times after about 5 or 6 turns I will stop and restart the digging process and or move them and start digging in again and some times it works.

Cheers
