Is there any way to free up units that are fixed in scenarios? I can change reinforcements but the above is still a mystery to me.

You can edit any of the scenarios in the Scenario Editor. That is where you will find the button that unfixes units.

Of course, this means you shouldn't PBEM anyone your revised scenarios unless they also have your files.

I believe if you alter any of the present scens, you should change the file name of the scen, maybe by adding something like Wardog-var1.
Good point Rod.
If it is altered it becomes a completely different scenario and should be noted as such? :chin:

Good call, Rod.

Forgot to state the obvious. *laughs*

Gents: :smoke:

There are a number of CS scenarios that utilize fixed units... I believe many used fixed units to give HAL a "helping hand" with solo play against the AI - correct? :chin:

I usually steer clear of playing a PBeM match with one side having fixed units... since IMHO, it severely limits a human player's options when all he has to work with... is a fixed OOB! :eek1:

So... my question... If I want to play a PBeM match... eliminate all fixed units in the scenario... and my opponent agrees... how would one report the match results? The scenario has been modified from the original version... so it would NOT be correct to report the match results under the original scenario title - correct? :chin:
I think you can rename the amended scenario and upload it for reporting puposes?
Actually, Mike, that is not always the case. Sometimes fixing units by the designer was done to reflect other issues.

If you edit a scenario I think you should change the name and reenter the scenario info into the ladder for reporting.
It would be a different game after you changed it? :chin:

cheers

Good points, Ed. In many cases, units/formations are fixed to reflect historical reality. If scens are altered in any way, I believe both file name and scen title must be changed to reflect this.
Those who dislike fixed units have, of course, the option of not playing scenarios which include them.
