Curious as to why the Panther can move further than the lighter Pz IVH.Wider tracks but a lot heavier and slower i would guess?????????

Panther had a better engine, transmission, suspension and tracks.

It had a road speed of 34 mph.

The PZIVH had a road speed of 23 mph.

That would explain it.

Panther: 700 HP, top speed 46 km/h, fuel consumption 450 l / 100km (road),
Pz IVH: 300 HP, top speed 38 km/h, fuel consumption 180 l / 100km (road)
Here I thought it was the skirts. :grin:

A Heavy Tank doesn not necessarily mean slow.
Modern main battle tanks are also quite fast.
