Did you consider including Dutch units to the oob to allow for such an alternate scenario possibility?
You may have been able to unearth more information on the Dutch army of 1914 than I could (which was Nothing...ask me about the 1815 Dutch army).

I do like that idea of the Dutch. They have already been overlooked in France 40. We all know the outcome, but having the Dutch as part of a campaign would make it better, I think. Especially if there are no fixed units. It could be interesting for a German cdr to think he could take the Netherlands with half the force historically used or commit more taking away from France. I like the multinational flavor a lot, but still think it would be better. I can't see that France 14 would be any different. Just a thought.

The biggest problem would be adding on another 2 weeks to the campaign. The 1914 early campaign is ingenious as it bypasses completely all the time consuming, and essentially inconsequential, maneuvers in Belgium and gets right down to the nitty-gritty. The addition of the Dutch would encompass, IMO, a "what-if" the Germans had committed to a full-bull von Schlieffen, left East Prussia denuded to one army, denuded the southern front as well, and went for it as von Schlieffen had envisioned. jonny:conf:
I don't know much about WW1, always been into WW2. I would like to see the Dutch added there in a campaign, maybe some what if stuff as I mentioned above, but also, maybe the allies send forces to help like they did in Norway. Not pulled from Belgium, but maybe from the Italian Front and Britain itself alng with the Poles. I think that would be interesting.
Maybe you could get tazaaron to do it.

Well there weren't any Poles in 1914 except those drafted into the Russian Army. There wasn't an Italian Front until 1915 and they had their hands full. The only way the Dutch get involved is if the Germans run a full bull Schlieffen thru Holland. jonny

Well there were entire divisions of Polish troops in KuK army... also there were German divisions composed mostly from Poles and they even fought in France...

I'm pretty sure there were no Polish divisions in the A-H army. There were some Poles in regions annexed by Austria in the last Partition who undoubtedly were drafted into the A-H army, just like there were Poles in East Prussia drafted into the German army but divisions comprised mostly of Poles in the German army would be a real surprise to me too. jonny :cheeky:
