Hey all.

I would like some suggestions from anyone that has experience or knows what would be decent point differences in advance and assault battles? Would a player on the advance have maybe 1/3 more points and would a attacker have 2/3 more points or maybe even double points than the defender? I remember back in the old days, early days of steel panthers we used to have double points for attacker but im not sure how it is balanced today in the more advanced versions? :bow:
Perhaps a bit too open question because of too many variables. Opponent, map and nations all are quite important in deciding the points used. I've played an advance with equal but also with double points and both can be balanced battles. For example you are defending against a top notch player who has elite force against your green units on a very unfavorable terrain for defense. In that case equal points may be enough, reverse the case and perhaps double isn't enough.
Ok thats true so it´s probably best to agree on that before the battle starts, it´s not a given variable I guess. Thanks for the input.
I think some one can correct me if I am wrong but IIRC a comfortable start point has always been 1 1/2 to 2 times you enemy's points.

Any other takers on that ?
The standard game settings are attacker:delayer - 2:1
AssaulterBig Grinefender - 2.5:1
Just set player 2 to XXX & game does it for you.

Standard military doctrine against a prepared defender is at least 3:1 as that should ensure victory but of course many variables involved though probably explains why 2.5 is used.
I'm using pretty close to Wigam's point range, perhaps with 25% variation.
