The only mention of walls in the manuals, as best I can find, is that they affect movement only, in the same way as a canal, except engineers can destroy them. No combat effects, I believe.

Yep, can't cross those walls, which makes the defense of Givet a bit easier as you can only bang in from one direction. Looks like a job for German Engineers. :eek1:

Right. Also, you can cross walls at bridges (so you can assault across there in T mode if need be and get in and out of them too), which of course abstractly represents gates.
