From the Notes file:
"Replacements is the strength recovery of a unit based on the individual unit's replacement rate that is applied in the Order of Battle."
I have looked at oob files and data files but am unable to discern the number that control these replacement rates.
Some testing seems to indicate that Zouaves do not get replacements...Correct?
Any help understanding how to interpret the OOB and Data file coding would be appreciated.
If you have one of the newer games, you can use the OOB editor from it to open the F'14 OOB and see the repl values easily- it works with Sealion but I tried Middle East and got an error, maybe just an update issue, or maybe a nationality issue.
Althernatively, open the OOB with Notepad or something and the value before a formation name, after the unit ID number, is the repl rate:
Here it is 2: G 265 2 Inf.Bde.5
Here it is 0: R 4 0 Gren.Regt.2
Either way, be very careful to not change and save anything or the game won't run any longer, the exe is tied to the OOBs and a change breaks everything without a new exe to match.

Open the OOB in the Editor
Right click on an FORMATION - not unit
You will see QUALITY
Replacements
and a check box for no attachment
If you enter a NON-Zero value here this takes precidence over the PDT Value.

Thanks Gents. Now I have an idea which units can and cannot draw replacements. The oob editor trick did not work with France '40 for the France '14 oob.

Time to Update your game then.
FROM the Fracnce 40 changes.txt file for ver 1.04
*** notE the current ver is v1.05
- Added the ability for an organization to receive Replacements in addition to the standard unit strength recovery feature (see Order of Battle editor and Users Manual under Combat Results).
So if this didn't work for you in France 40 then you are running something older than v1.04 it missing something in the instructions.

I have France '40 version 1.05. The oob editor opens the France '14 oob but only displays the German army through Festung Diedenhofen. Nothing displays from Austro-Hungarian R 140125 0 k.u.k. FsAB.2 (-) to the end of the oob.
No Austrians allowed in France '40 I guess, but I was able to find the replacement values by looking at the oob in Wordpad after being informed where to look.
But if you have Sealion and use its editor, it will open the entire OOB, I found.
