Gentlemen,

As HPS dives into the First World War I series, a few questions quickly come to mind; which no one might have an answer to at this point, but I'll ask anyways.

1. How many games are planned for this series?

2. How often are they going to come out?

3. What is the probablity that the Russian Revolution would be covered?

4.What are the chances that the African Campaign(s) will be covered as well?

I've taken the advice of the helpful moderators of this message board and will wait till I get France '14 to try out the HPS OPS series. I should be recieving it sometime early next week. I pre-ordered it.
I'll screw around with the AI a bit, but since I am still in bootcamp as of now, I will/would like to acquire a patient Vet who would like to show me the ropes of France '14 and what this series is about. I know it differs in a dozen or so ways from the current HPS OPS, but I haven't played any of those games either. If anyone is interested please let me know. It would greatly appreciated.

I will try to answer the questions:

1) As many as there are interest for by customers. If the interest is high then I am sure the series will be around for a while and will try cover every major operation of WW1. So, in that regard, maybe 10-15 titles, who knows.

2) Not very often I don't think -- well "not very often" is a relative term. Maybe a better answer is "about as often as a new JT Napoleonic game comes out". There are tons of research to do in these games, the OOB especially. So maybe every few years or so would be optimistic, but again, we will see.

3) The possibility is high if there is enough interest in the topic and the series in general.

4) The interest is there to have a title cover East Africa 14-18 (yes, about von Lettow Vorbeck "the Jungle Fox"). But a lot of stuff would have to be worked out before that point, and again it all comes back to how much interest people have in the series in general.

As for finding someone who is knowledgeable about the game, Foul created an article about the differences in the series which might help, and you might even be able to talk him into playing a small game against him too. :)

Unfortunately my article was aimed at players already familiar with the PzC series and just highlights the differences between them, so while reading the article would not be a waste of time it does not cover any of the basic functions of the game system.

So although i completely understand your desire to try the game out PBEM, i suggest you play the AI (as i know you intend to) until you are comfortable with the basic functions of the game (i.e. how to drag & drop units, travel mode and how it works, artillery set up, how to assault....etc) once you can do the basics without thinking about it you can move to PBEM and learn the tactics of the game!
Volcano Man and Foul Thanks for the information. Will do!
