Why does it take so long to play a cs scenario of any size or level?

I think that unfortunately "real life" kicks in - most of us on here are more "mature" gamers and wifes/girlfriends/children take up a lot of our time. I play as often as I can, but the above considerations do eat into my gaming time.

Hi Bruce:

It appears... based on a couple of your threads... you are frustrated with "slow" CS opponents?

Ed has already suggested that you look for other opponents who have similar game turn around speeds as you.

One "tool" that can assist you in your search for "speedy" opponents is to review players' profiles. Look under the "What is your average PBEM turn rate?" section. If the player lists either "Advanced" (3-5 turns per week) or "Dedicated" (6+ turns per week)... you have a potential opponent with similar turn rates? :chin:

Another method you can employ that "simulates" faster game turn rates is to have multiple games underway at a time. This way, you have a better chance of having 1 or more turns in your inbox at any given time. But be careful that you don't over commit yourself with too many games... you want your gaming hobby to remain a fun activity and not a burden! :eek1:
Hello Mr.KK thank you for your "MATURE" reply. I have been looking into what you and Chuck suggested in another thread I posted. This seems to be the way to go.I appreciate the input Best Regards,Pointman.
If you can manage it, you should try to find a few "live" games. Playing realtime is an experience. you don't have the leisure to ponder your moves for a few hours before making them (I don't do this anyway, as I'm sure my opponents can testify to, but still)

I have many opponents that average one move per day, often more than one.

But, even those run into life or computer issues that can slow a game down.

I usually have 8 games going at once and that almost always means two or three moves per day.

Another idea is to play opponents from different parts of the world. Australia is a good choice if you are in the US because during my evenings it's their morning or early afternoon. I sometimes get moves from my Australian opponents at midnight my time. If you work the time difference, you can be getting moves all day long.

Mike's advice in regard to playing too many games is a good one. When I first joined the Blitz, I overloaded on games and got burned out. I personally took 3 months off and then got back into the games on the basis of what I could reasonable handle.

If I don't have a lot of moves to address in a given day, I just spend more time addressing the ones I do have.

If you are interested Bruce, I can provide you with the names and emails of several potential opponents that move almost daily.

I occasionally get the opponent that's good for a move every 5-7 days on a consistant basis, but if that bothers me, I just don't play them again.

My best,

Pat
Thanks Pat I would love to see that list.Best Regards Bruce.
