23 April and snowing here in southern Arizona! Wow, I've seen it all. Global Warming MUST be true.

Woo Hoo...
Sunday Monday Tuesday I wore short pants, 80s and 90s. This morning 45 here, Kingman shows 31. Upper 80s tomorrow.
Actually, global warming predicts higher global average temperatures... not just higher temperatures alone. This includes dramatic upsets in established patterns and an increase in "pendulum swings" if you will - the hots become hotter, and the colds become colder, and you will get bizarre combinations with greater frequency. When viewed over the course of a year, however, the average temp will increase gradually a few tenths of a degree over time (but because of the increase in both highs and lows, the temperature swings actually get much larger). This also accounts for the strengthening of severe weather - it won't necessarily, in the early stages, produce more storms, but just intensify the ones that do form.

Just for the sake of accuracy.

Stuff snow seen enough of that this year. From Christmas Eve all it done was snow for about 2 weeks every day.3 Weeks ago we had 2 feet in 24 hours nightmare then 12 days later going about in short sleeves with the temp at 58f.Worst winter in about 30 years in Scotland so wheres the warming????.Did you built a snowman Jim:stir::stir::stir:
Just for the sake of accuracy the global warming people have been found to be frauds and global warming a lie and the polar bears are not on the way out. Although 2012 should be an interesting year if the Mayans are right :conf:
Sure it has. (Waving chicken foot and reciting voodoo "science" from those paragons of knowledge, talk radio/talk tv)

That's what the boys at UEA used for predictions Big Grin It was a good thing they managed to piss off the Russians. ;) Now we may get real info.
I live in Oceanside CA.I wore shorts and t-shirt with my deck shoes down to the harbor and broke a sweat.Should have worn my flops. But just about 40 miles from here we got 8 inches of snow in 12 hours.Julian was snowed in for the first time in years so late into spring.Go figure.

Hey Pointman,
Here on the southeast side of lake Erie we can get snow of 2 inches an hour for hours on end. Good old lake effect gotta love it !!!

I lived in Julian 40 years ago

Montana gets a bad winter rap, but in mid-southern Montana it was an unusually mild winter.

Last year my power bill during Dec, Jan, Feb averaged over $220a month, while this year it was $150 with no decrease in the cost of electricity and natural gas.

My relatives in the south who track the weather in Montana, said it was warmer here than there?

Global warming? Don't know, but I use to have to sneak out at intersections to peak around all the snow piled up at the corner before making a turn. This hasn't happened since 1979.

40 below zero in 1982 (no windchill) and a high of 20 below for almost two weeks. Never anything close to that since then.

A big snowfall where I live is 8" and that doesn't last on the ground more than a week or two.

Weather here is definitely changing, but cycles occur, so I can't point a finger at "Global Warming".
