I was just thinking (dangerous habit I know) that, if you could lock the settings so you couldn't see the other opponents unit bases it would bring camouflage into it. It would add another dimension to an already awesome game.:smg:
oog. My eyes are bad enough, especially when I haven't cleaned my glasses!

I challenge any player to "turn off unit bases", don't use the "next unit" button... and then play a Rising Sun battle! :jaw:

There's your "built-in" camouflage without use of any optional rules! :cheeky:
I suppose you could turn off the unit's "base" but press "t" to show "thermometers" only... that might give you a little of both.
Honestly, I never play with unit bases on (consequently, I never see my opponents bases either) and never use the "next unit" button. Typically, for a small battle I toggle between views 1 and 4. For the large ones; 1, 4 and occasionally 5. No bases, no "next unit". I love the view.
I've often wondered about that. It would certainly add a new dimension to the game but I fear, many of us oldens' would shy away from it, due to eyesight fading, lol! It would be interesting to play with bases off between two like-minded players tho imho!

When I first started playing all I needed was the action point bar, but now as I get older and some of the camo of the units get better I do rely on the bases more and more.
Having a large monitor helps out old and tired eyes? :eek1:Whip

For those who want to play without bases on it is nice that the feature is optional and they can have at it?
This proves that the game is flexible and can meet most needs? :smoke:

cheers
