I am finally getting use to navigating the "new" site, but you still can't sort scenarios by "wins" and this is getting to be a real hassle for me personally Cry

I chose all the games for my tournaments and H2H play using "wins" (looking for balance) and "number of turns". It was so easy to scroll through these options on the original site and are now a real pain in the ass

I have also noticed that one cannot access the "Table of Ranks" :conf:

Wondering how long "still working on it" might take :chin:

I hear ya Pat - my personal gripe is, I would like for everyone to be on the same ladder - none of this "2010 ladder" nonsense, since it forces everyone to basically start all over on the ladder, which is a huge setback, especially for those who have hundreds of games already played.

I also would like to see the table of ranks return, like it was before, including for all the previous nationalities. Would it hurt to add a few more, as well? I once called for the inclusion of Vietnam, Egypt and Syria to be added to the table of ranks (a nod to our Divided Ground / VN fans), but no one ever responded.

I also would like to get the previous color schemes back. The original boards were so much easier to read (I used desert, smaller fonts).

could the powers that be (the admins) give us an idea on when these corrections will be implemented, or IF there are plans to correct this, ever?

Just my 2 cents on the matter.
Guys, we have one webmaster that has remade the site. We were moved to a better and faster server.
We were also told that this would be a project under construction for a while? Let's give the guys some time to straighten out all the glitches?

BTW, you can choose to not look at the 2010 ladder and simply view the CS Ladder. I share John's frustration at not have the table of ranks set up as it was, more color choices when viewing the site pages, and personally I miss the overall ladder.

All things take time. One guy working in his spare time is going to move more slowly. Let him get the walls up before we want him to put shingles on the roof?

I know it is frustrating. But, things will be addressed in the order of importance to the site itself. Then, I guess, they will branch out into the area of "chrome" and personal taste.

cheers

Can someone please explain to me why a new MB was "'needed'". Seems to me the old one was fine. It did the job. Still, if you prefer process to outcome, the new is for you.
I thought I'd already addressed why a new message board was needed. Older boards are full of security flaws and must be updated or risk hackers obtaining root access to servers and can give them the ability to run executables and malicious scripts. Just the way it is. Frankly, it should have been updated long before. This site stores passwords. How many of you are using the same password you use all the time, like for your email account? I'll bet a lot. You have no idea what can be done with that. Pretty much ruin your life. I'm not positive, but Raz and senior officers could see your bulletin board passwords before, now they can't.

Also, I've also said this before, the CS forum isn't the place to put site concerns and feature requests. You should put that on the main level forum in "the new blitz" area where Raz might see it. If you feel it's a serious issue that needs an immediate response he's posted his email.

Lastly Ed's dead on. Raz did this site pretty much by himself. My company would have charged around $30,000 if we had done it for one of our corporate clients. Jim got it for nothing and we get to use it for nothing.

Personally, I think the site's pretty good. Doesn't mean it can't take some improvements, but overall pretty good. Especially the admin area which Raz was nice enough to let me look at before it went live (the area for senior officers where I'm not normally allowed). Some of the features Raz included there makes administration much easier for Jim and the others.

Some of you have valid suggestions and there's nothing wrong with making sure Raz is aware of them, but in a few instances he's already stated that he was. Post your concerns and suggestions in the proper area. Keep in mind he's one guy and he's doing it for nothing.

OK, I've had my hands slapped with the ruler Cry
Pat,

Don't think of it as much as a hand slapping as it is someone is trying to open up the curtain and letting you view what is behind the stage?
Raz is one person who is doing this for his love of the club.
As Dave said, it would cost us thousands of dollars to have something up and running smoothly? We are certainly lucky to have had Raz make us more secure and to be here to address things one at a time.

We just need to help where we can? Later on it will seem like any bumps in the road will be a past dream?

Sorry. Wasn't trying to slap anyone's hand. Buy you an ice cream? :)
